Film production Budget
The films production Budget was £1,500,000 which was a enough to get all the cast crew and equipment needed to make on of the most successful British films of all time.

The Production companies who produced the film were: Film4, big Arts, Em media, optimum releasing, screen Yorkshire,UK film council and Warp films.

The film is Horizontally integrated and Film4 is a subsidiary production company. Film4 only produced the film and did not take part in the distribution or Exhibition of the film.Optimum releasing are vertically integrated in the film process as they were part of the production and distribution of the film.

For home exhibition the film is available on DVD with extra footage such as deleted scenes director commentary and behind the scenes., video, Internet e.g downloading films, blue ray, films on demand e.g virgin media films paying for the film to watch during a certain amount of hours.

In my opinion I think that the film is liked because of the content and story it has to tell.It isn't a film which will appeal to everyone as the content and language is strong.I think it would be shown in cinemas but it Will appeal to the older generation as it has a purpose to it this age group(18+) would appreciate the content of the film and appreciate why the use of violence and bad language is necessary. It makes you think about how socially excepted people are in society not just in the time the film was set (in the 80s) but in society today how we judge people before even knowing or talking to them.It explores how societies groups and cultures can be taken to the extreme and how it can push all boundary's of our moral values. Its a powerful depiction of how easy peoples beliefs can be influences by the majority. The film was very successful and got a lot of great reviews which helped it to gain more media attention for the us the consumers.reviews from the times, the sun,the observer made the film have more opportunities to be discovered. Its greatest achievements other than its success with the public pleasure were the awards it received.Winner of best film from British independent awards. Winner of special jury award from Rome film festival and winner of most promised newcomer from the British independent film awards.

I think these scenes are the most important as it portrays how Shaun's journey started and ended.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvyhrVLbMe0 this scene shows Shaun complying by the skinhead trade make by getting his head shaved.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GwmL-ZHP3E This scene shows how Combo and Shaun's friendship grew with each other Combo being a role model for Shaun to follow in his footsteps.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8uAtsaPO-E The last scene is important as the life he was living as a skinhead was over, by him throwing the flag away he was done fighting with society.

My media summer

My Media Summer.

During the summer I accessed a variety of different media. Music plays a large part in my life. This summer music has been an essential part of my 6 weeks with my friends. Especially in France listening to my Ipod on the journey. For example, the song of my summer was birthday song by Jeremiah.this was because it was played quite frequency on the radio stations and had a catchy chorus which me and my friends all sang along.

I went to Cyprus for 2weeks but I wasn't exposed to much Greek TV. I followed a BBC drama called the street which I thought was a very powerful rendition of different peoples lives on one street. Two of the episodes were very well played. The first was a man having difficulties dealing with his new life coming home scarred from the Iraq war. He was faced with the reactions of his family and how it took a toll on his mental health. The other episode was a man raised in a racist family and falling in love with a Russian lady making him change his views on other culture in society.

While I was in France there generally isn't much to do when I go visit my family as it is in quite a remote place .While we were there me and my mum watched a film called In Her Shoes. I liked this film as it depicts the relationship between two sisters and showing that all relationship's can have rough patches. Its an emotionally charged film.

While I was at home I went to see three films in the cinema. I went to see Year One and thought it was disappointing as it was not as amusing as it was depicted in the trailer. However the best film I saw this summer was Hangover, which me and my brother went to see. I thought that it was going to be another typical American comedy but to my surprise it was generally witty throughout the whole film. I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

I wasn't short of reading lots of fashion magazines keeping up with the latest trends, celeb gossip and bargains for the summer seasons. It is great way to keep up with the latest looks and get an insight into the celeb lifestyle. The magazine I read mostly this summer was More magazine. It was just enough real life stories and fashion to keep me reading in the sunshine.

For me having access to media is a day to day norm and especially on Holiday I used the Internet to access facebook and keep up with friends, listen to music, watch clips and do some research. A summer without access to different media would have meant that my time would have lacked interest.
